Why Overland Andorra?

Andorra may be tiny, but it makes an excellent overlanding stop in the Pyrenees.

Wedged between France and Spain, this mountain microstate is more about scenic alpine driving than epic long-distance expeditions. Tight mountain roads, panoramic passes, ski resorts, hiking valleys, and duty-free shopping make it a rewarding detour for vanlifers and overlanders crossing southwestern Europe.

Unlike rugged expedition destinations, Andorra is comfortable and easy to navigate, but mountain weather adds seasonal challenges. In summer, it offers beautiful road trips, hiking access, and cool temperatures. In winter, snow and ice transform the experience into a more demanding alpine drive.

For European overlanders, Andorra works especially well as a short scenic route rather than a standalone long expedition.

Algeria is possible for motorhome travel, but it is not a typical relaxed RV destination like Morocco or southern Europe.

This is Algeria’s most realistic motorhome route.

The northern corridor combines relatively straightforward road conditions with the country’s strongest cultural highlights.

Annaba makes a practical eastern entry point if arriving from Tunisia.

Constantine is one of Algeria’s most spectacular cities, dramatically split by deep ravines and connected by soaring bridges. Parking a large RV in the city center can be challenging, so staying on the outskirts is easier.

Algiers is fascinating but difficult in a motorhome due to dense traffic, tight urban streets, and parking constraints. A better strategy is suburban parking with day trips into the city.
